The Blaine Bengals capped off Caucus Tuesday in Minnesota with a 5-2 win over the Moorhead Spuds at the Moorhead Sports Center in Moorhead, Minnesota. Joe Awaljane had two goals and Joey Lau added a pair of assists in the win. Blaine goalie Nick Malvin made 33 saves to pick up the win in net to give the Bengals a win against a top ten team and set their sights on the close of their regular season schedule.
Joining the show in first period will be Blaine head coach Dave Aus, sophomore Tyler Cline who scored a goal, and senior Joey Vegel who also added a goal and has stepped up his desire to return to St. Paul as a team again. The second period looks at another 5-2 win that played out Monday night at the Amsoil Arena in Duluth, Minnesota. The Duluth East Greyhounds turned aside a stiff challenge from the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks and OTSN.tv contributor Jordan Doffing provided the post game coverage.
Alex Toscano provided the needed offensive push for the Hounds as he had a goal and an assist in the game. He had a goal and an assist in the effort. Also, Hound head coach Mike Randolph chipped in with the post game coverage as he discussed his team being healthy for the first time all season.
The Hermantown Hawks went to work and improved on their undefeated record as they shutout Duluth Denfeld by a score of 7-0. The Hawks are now 22-0-0 with three games to play against Red Wing, Little Falls, and Hibbing/Chisholm.
